Office 2024 includes classic versions of the Office apps with a one-time purchase. Here’s what that means in practice:
- One computer. Pick the computer you’ll use it on before you start, because a one-time purchase can be installed once, on either a PC or a Mac.
- Apps by edition. The exact apps depend on the edition you choose, which we cover below.
- Security updates. Security updates are included, but new features and upgrades to major releases are not.
- Storage. You decide whether to save documents on your computer or in the cloud with a service such as OneDrive. Extra online storage is not included with a one-time purchase.
- Internet access. Once Office 2024 is installed and activated, you can use the apps offline. You need internet access to install, activate and update it, and Office 2024 requires reactivation periodically.
